Ted Nugent has recently responded to an article and weighed in on the ongoing debate over ticket pricing and Live Nation–Ticketmaster’s dominance of the live entertainment industry, issuing a fiery post on X aimed at both the ticketing giant and President Donald Trump.

Ted Nugent opens up on Trump

In his post, Nugent rejected the idea that Trump supports government-imposed price controls on concert tickets, writing that Trump “is not imposing the bullshit SOCIALIST price controls that Live Nation/Ticketmaster is lobbying for.”

Nugent framed proposed ticket price caps as a form of “corporate welfare” that would ultimately benefit Ticketmaster while crushing its smaller competitors.

Here is what he wrote: “NO, @RealDonaldTrump is not imposing the bullshit SOCIALIST price controls that Live Nation/Ticket Master is lobbying for.

Live Nation/TM is pushing this corporate welfare scheme because this THUG MONOPOLY can survive a cap. Its other revenue streams will cover the losses.

TicketMaster’s competitors CANNOT survive socialist price caps.

FULL CONTROL of the ticket marketplace for TicketMaster = BAD for artists & fans!”

The article is from last year and it was reported that Live Nation addressed concerns about the company’s practices and industry more broadly with a new packet of material meant for President Donald Trump’s administration and other government agencies, principally the U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

The submission, reviewed by Variety, was intended to address issues across the secondary ticket market and outlines suggested reforms to create fairness for fans and artists. Live Nation, the parent company of Ticketmaster, suggested that there should be 20 percent caps placed on ticket resale prices; that artists be given greater control over secondary ticket sales; and that the government should do more to combat bad actors, including going after deceptive websites and more effective enforcement of the 2016 BOTS Act.
