Rock musician and outspoken political commentator Ted Nugent has ignited fresh debate on X after posting a sharply worded critique of both major U.S. political parties.
Ted Nugent wants changes
In the post, Nugent says he remains a “Christian constitutional conservative conservationist,” but argues that while Democrats are moving “openly” toward socialism, Republicans are failing to adhere to the limited-government and fiscally responsible values he considers fundamental.
In a post published on X, Ted Nugent declared:
“I am real Christian constitutional conservative conservationist who believes two core principles, (1) limited govt is best govt, (2) fiscal responsibility.”
He continued:
“Until the Republican Party returns to these two fundamental principles, I will continue to believe the Democrat Party is madly sprinting towards socialism right out in the open while the numbnut Republican Party is maniacally jogging towards it.”

Nugent has long been a vocal figure in conservative politics and frequently critiques the GOP from the right, especially on issues of spending, government growth, and constitutional adherence.
His comments echo long-running concerns among fiscal conservatives who believe the Republican Party no longer reliably champions small government or tight budgeting.
In a radio appearance, Nugent had previously described the federal government as “Fedzilla,” calling it a “bloated monster” and argued for far leaner, more accountable governance.
On Fox News, Nugent has also repeatedly warned that the government is “totally out of control.”
