Tom Morello Promotes Merchandise With a Political Edge

Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello has long been really outspoken about his political beliefs, both through his music and his social media presence. So it wasn’t surprising when he used a recent merch promotion to take another pointed political jab.

Morello took to Instagram to encourage fans to grab discounted items from his merch store, framing the sale as an opportunity to both spread holiday cheer and anger alt-right relatives. He pointed out that the items were ethically made and pushed fans to visit his bio link for the sale.

“Want to celebrate holiday cheer AND annoy the hell out of your alt-right relatives this holiday season? We got ya covered! 30% OFF SITEWIDE STARTS NOW! Go to the link in bio to grab your 100% sweatshop free gear now. #HoHoHo”

Recent Political Activity in Washington, D.C.

The merch announcement came shortly after Morello posted a series of photos from a political demonstration in Washington, D.C. Earlier this month, he shared photos of himself protesting outside the White House while wearing a shirt that read “Destroy American Fascism.” Another photo showed him posing beside a statue depicting Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein holding hands.

Morello also shared shots of his guitar from a performance, with “F* ICE”** written prominently on it.

A Day of Activism and Music

Morello said he had a memorable day that began with a politically charged visit to the White House and ended with performances of “The Ghost of Tom Joad” and “Kick Out the Jams,” joined by Max Weinberg of the E Street Band.

“Great day/night in DC from a timely White House visit to rocking ‘The Ghost Of Tom Joad’ & ‘Kick Out The Jams’ with the mighty @mightymaxweinberg of the E Street Band! Who was there?”

So it’s quite clear that Morello will continue to be open about his political views and mock anyone who goes against his beliefs and that’s unlikely to change anytime soon.
