Tool are in Portland, Maine mixing their long awaited new album with Bob Ludwig. Adam Jones has shared photos of the band on Instagram.

Danny Carey canceled a performance on Monday to make it to Maine.

hellboy1975 posted on the Tool Reddit, “From an unverified source today, I hear that Danny [Carey] didn’t play at the Baked Potato this evening, because he (and I assume other members of the band + Joe) have flown to Maine to start mastering the album.”

Of The Trees shared an airport photo, “My hometown airport in Portland Maine. They record all of their albums here 🤗.”

“Master * correct, I’m actually not sure where the recording takes place but Bob is an absolute legend and a pride and joy of our state. ❤️”

A fan asked if he asked about the new album.

“Didn’t have to ask… they were very chill. Let’s just say they’re kickin it! I don’t wanna get sued by their management or something. 😂”

Bob Ludwig’s mastering credits include albums by Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix, Phish, Megadeth, Metallica, Gloria Estefan, The Strokes, Queen, U2, Sting, The Police, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Beck, Guns N’ Roses, Richie Sambora, Tool, Simple Minds, Bryan Ferry, Tori Amos, Bonnie Raitt, Mark Knopfler, Leonard Cohen, David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, the Bee Gees, Madonna, Supertramp, Will Ackerman, Pet Shop Boys, Radiohead, Elton John, Daft Punk and Alabama Shakes.
