Maynard James Keenan remembered the time he jokingly applied “all-male band” Tool to perform at the Lilith Fair, an all-female (“consisted solely of female solo artists and female-led bands,” that is) festival founded in 1997.

Keenan told Glamour:

“He did.

“They declined.

“I wanted the ‘thank you but no thank you’ letter to frame.

“Never got it.”
