WEEZER bassist SCOTT SHRINER SPEAKS OUT after his wife was SHOT BY POLICE and ARRESTED for attempted MURDER. A fan also held a sign protesting Shriner’s wife’s arrest at Coachella.

On Tuesday (April 8th), Jillian Shriner, wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, received a non-life-threatening gunshot wound after she was shot by a police officer and arrested for attempted murder.
In a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department, it was revealed that officers were involved in an unrelated car chase, pursuing suspects in a hit-and-run case. One of those suspects apparently attempted to enter the Shriners’ property. Jillian reportedly used her own gun to fire at the suspect and then pointed her gun at officers. When she allegedly refused to lower her weapon when asked by police, an “officer-involved shooting” occurred, with Jillian being shot in the shoulder.

LAPD has confirmed that she was “booked for attempted murder.”

Now, Scott Shriner has spoken out about the incident, telling the New York Post on Thursday (April 10th): “She’s alright, thank you for asking.”

While Scott declined to go further into detail, he did confirm Weezer’s planned show at Coachella on Saturday (April 12th) will still go on.

“See you at Coachella,” he added.
