Courtney Love Apologizes For Foo Fighters Death

Tributes started outpouring after the news broke of the passing away of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins. The legendary drummer breathed his last at the age of 50. Previously Jimmy Page had paid tribute to him. Courtney Love, who is Hole frontman and widow of legendary singer, Kurt Cobain. Love took to her Instagram account to share her thoughts and also felt sorry for Foo Fighters members, Pat Smear and Dave Grohl.

Courtney Love reacts to Taylor Hawkins death

Taking to Instagram, she posted a string of pictures featuring herself with Hawkins. She captioned: “What a sad day, what a tragic passing, Taylor was a sweet adorable kid, excellent drummer, never hurt a fly. My condolences to my darling Pat, and David tonight. 🕊. Rip Taylor. I’m so sorry Dave. X c”

The band had confirmed the news of his demise. Foo Fighters were due to play on the same day of his death. They were scheduled to play at the Festival Estereo Picnic in Bogota, Colombia. The band decided to cancel the concert amid the saddening news. 

“The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins,” the band said in a statement on Twitter. “His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever,” they added.

The cause of death is still not officially confirmed, but there are reports.  ‘According to those close to him, the death could be related to the consumption of drugs.’ The Daily Mail reported this alleged statement. He had a history of drug abuse. White powder ‘similar to cocaine’,  and hallucinogens, were allegedly found in the five-star Casa Medina hotel room of Hawkins. Renowned Colombian journalist Luis Carlos Velez, the Bogota-based director of radio station FM recently claimed that a police officer who entered Hawkins’ room had told prosecutors he saw a ‘cocaine-like’ white powder.
