Jimmy Page Reveals Huge Offer From Dave Grohl

Founder of Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Page recently paid tribute to the late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins,who recently passed away at the age of 50. The tragic death of Hawkins has saddened the music world. Dave Grohl-fronted band was due to play on the same day of his death. They were scheduled to play at the Festival Estereo Picnic in Bogota, Colombia. The unfortunate incident led to the band canceling the tour.

While many poured in their thoughts, Led Zeppelin founder also paid tribute to Hawkins. In a Instagram post he sent a heartfelt message and it was in this post he revealed how he was invited to play with Foo Fighters.

He noted that following the Led Zeppelin show at the O2, he “was invited to play at Wembley Stadium with the Foo Fighters on 7th June 2008.” He further revealed that they “played Rock and Roll with Taylor on turbocharged vocals and Dave on drums and then for Ramble On they swapped, with Taylor on drums and Dave Grohl on vocals.”

Page revealed that: “I had seen and heard Taylor play the drums many times with @foofighters – he shone within his powerful role in the band.”

Led Zeppelin founder had further added that they “put in some serious versions of these two songs. It was so good to play with him. I really admired him and he was a brilliant musician: his technique, his energy and spirited enthusiasm.”

He sent “condolences to his family, his band members in the Foos and his fans.”

The band previously issued a statement about Hawkins’ death on Twitter. No proper cause of his death has been revealed. Police believe Taylor’s death could be drug related and that he’d reportedly complained to hotel staff about having chest pains.

The Metropolitan Police of Bogota, in a statement released by several Colombian newspapers, said: ‘The cause of death has yet to be established. ‘According to those close to him, the death could be related to the consumption of drugs.’ The Daily Mail reported this alleged statement. But, he had a history of drug use.
