Foo Fighters frontman and former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl covered Temple of the Dog’s “Hunger Strike” for the first time on Sunday night at the Orange Peel in Asheville. The Temple of the Dog classic featured a duet between iconic Grunge singers Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder. Foo Fighters will perform at the ‘I Am The Highway’ Chris Cornell tribute show next month. You can watch video below.

Grohl had played at a Christmas show with Warren Haynes the prior night and got snowed in, so he and Haynes decided to do a surprise show at the Orange Peel. Grohl performed his 23-minute song “Play” again with his all star band, along with performing with Haynes and other big names.
