Legendary Seattle Singer Announces ‘Project Dead Guys’ Album To Honor Chris Cornell & More

Blabbermouth reports that Heart singer Ann Wilson is working on a tribute album to “artists who have departed in the last several years,” including David Bowie, Tom Petty and Chris Cornell. Wilson is collaborating with longtime Heart producer Mike Flicker on the LP, which has the working title of “PDG” (“Project Dead Guys”).

“It’s a project very dear to me — a collection of songs by artists who have departed in the last several years: Leonard Cohen, David Bowie, Tom Petty and Chris Cornell, to name a few,” she said in a statement. “To honor these great artists is my deepest pleasure, and Mike Flicker is working with me on this new record. It is thrilling work and I can’t wait for you to hear what we are doing.”

In the meantime, Ann will continue to tour billed as “Ann Wilson of Heart”, with new dates starting on January 12.

“We’re excited to be back, performing intimate shows for y’all,” she said. “We hope you can join us for this unique experience again this year.”

I hope they improve on the “working title” when it comes to their album.

I really want to hear the version of Ring Them Bells that Heart did with Chris Cornell. Layne’s version is great but I know they did the song with Chris too.

      So do I.

By the way, have you heard them sing “Wild Horses” together?

      • Trovoid

I have! I wish it was better quality but it is a solid cover.

I told my husband that when this album comes out, that I want to buy it.

I love Ann, Nancy, and HEART.

And I know that Ann will do one hell of a tribute to all of these artists (who have passed on).
