Live Announce New Music With Ed Kowalczyk

The chronically underrated alternative rock band Live, fresh off the heels of their reunion last year with original frontman Ed Kowalczyk, are ready to unveil new material with their new (old) lineup.

I spoke to Ed at Live Nation’s $20 Concert Week kickoff event, where he was joined by Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz. The two bands will be touring together over the summer, and Ed revealed Live will be using the opportunity to put out some new material.

According to Ed, “[Live’s] new single is called ‘Love Lounge’. We have a mix we really like and I think we are going to be putting it out in June, alongside the tour.”

Live’s latest album, The Turn, featured Chris Shinn on vocals. Their last record with Ed was 2006’s Songs from Black Mountain.

Agreed, these guys are way underrated.

  • Billy

Live was doing some tour dates recently with The Tea Party in Australia, hopefully they partner up again for some Canadian dates in the future

More good news. Underrated indeed. Live were huge with Throwing Copper and Secret Samadhi was a real solid album I listened to a lot of. Really happy the original members are all back together.

Underrated? These guys ruled the alternative world in the mid to late y were quite appropriately rated. Their music imho in the late to early millennium years just got a little worse. Hoping the best to them.

But god, if any band needed a little more humor in their lives and lyrics….
