Metallica have unexpectedly released their new single “Hardwired”, off of the band’s upcoming tenth studio album, Hardwired… To Self-Destruct, out on November 18th.

“Hardwired” sounds like a playful throwback to the band’s pre-Black Album days, a trait that some fans considered a half-measure on the group’s last record, 2008’s Death Magnetic. If this tune is any indication, Hardwired… To Self-Destruct will easily erase some traumatic memories of 2011’s universally panned collaboration record with the late Lou Reed, Lulu.
