When you are in such a legendary band as Motley Crue, you know for a fact that you will be talked about for decades to come. That’s exactly the case with Motley Crue. There have been so many books based on the band and the members of the band as well. On top of that, let’s not mention how many shows and movies have been based on the band and the its members as well. However, not all projects have the blessings of the members of the band.

Recently, word had gotten out that a play was being made which focused on Motley Crue and Nikki Sixx. The play has lovingly been titled ‘The Crue’. Motley Crue fans flocked to this when word first escaped from the finger tips of reporters to start stirring the pot. A lot of people would assume that anything tied to the band would automatically have their consent to move forward; wrong.

Since the buzz has been big enough, Nikki Sixx has gotten word of the project and he has now spoken his own peace of the topic of the play. Nikki seemed a bit upset about the live action take on his life and the band as he stated: “I was disappointed to see an advertisement using my image and our band’s trademark THE CRÜE to promote this play.”

Nikki Sixx then continues as he seems to feel a certain way about the fans of his having the wool pulled over their eyes: “The advertising is misleading because it suggests that I and the other members of the band are somehow involved with the play. We have never been approached about this play. And MÖTLEY CRÜE has no connection or affiliation with this play whatsoever.”

As of now, there are no talks of any legal issues that the band or Nikki Sixx will push. Admittedly, the playmaker is not using the Motley Crue name, they are using a lesser version of it which may be a legal loophole. We will see how this continues to unfold.
