Pearl Jam’s Dave Abbruzzese Campaigns For Rock Hall of Fame To Let Him In

A Pearl Jam fan in Australia has launched a petition to demand that Dave Abbruzzese be included in Pearl Jam’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame list of inducted members. Abbruzese has shared the link to the petition multiple times on his Facebook page. As of this writing, the petition has 876 supporters. Below is the description of the petition:

90’s Grunge icon, Pearl Jam, have recently been included in the “Class of 2017 Inductees” Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. However, the “powers that be” do not see fit to include their undoubtedly, most “explosive” drummer, David Abbruzzese!

This is an OUTRAGE!

Apart from his hard-hitting, energy-crazed grooves that helped shape what was to become “the most popular American rock & roll band of the ’90s”, Dave’s most notable influence in the band, was his contribution to the 1993 single, “Go”. Although credited to all members of Pearl Jam, the music was primarily written by Dave. “Go” peaked at number three on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and was also included on Pearl Jam’s 2004 greatest hits album, rearviewmirror (Greatest Hits 1991–2003).

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have stated that “the members of each eligible band (being inducted) are determined by largely who was present and active during the most influential recording years”. One former member of PJ, Dave Krusen has been included with the bands induction, however, Krusen only recorded the first Album “Ten”. Dave Abbruzzese replaced and subsequently toured with Pearl Jam following the release of the album, which included the iconic “Unplugged” set in 1992. Although Krusen was ‘active’, he was not largely present during the ‘influential recording years’. Dave Abbruzzese, was both.

Sign, share and make your voice known, that Dave Abbruzzese was a major influence in Pearl Jam’s success and should be included along with the current members being inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall Fame!

I hope Pearl Jam would at least invite him & even make him play even for just a bit. I think that will be a good gesture on their part.

    • Corndog

Yeah that would be nice, but i can’t see it. Eddie is too much of a pretentious a-hole to admit that he was an even bigger pretentious a-hole when he pushed the best drummer they ever had out of the band.

The disrespect this dude gets is criminal. He’s a fantastic drummer. Cameron can’t touch him.

        Well, miracles can happen, lol!

          A Christmas Miracle… perhaps.

Oh BTW, I told that Supervisor the *Mailing Uncle Eddie’s Undercrackers from Hawaii” joke and he broke into laughter. Seems he is a 10 Club Member & he is on the PJ Facebook page a lot and knew aaalllll about that crazy woman and all of her ramblings re: being Eddie’s neighbor. lol

        • Corndog

I’d have loved to be there to see that:)

      • Katie

OMG… Corndog just said something a wee bit negative about Uncle Eddie.
        :::faints dead away:::

        • Corndog

Yep, but only i’m allowed to say it. Well, me and his mother:)

    • Katie

      One would hope…

Hopefully PJ will do what Metallica did… The R&RHOF tried to suppress former members and James and the boys rebelled – just said *eff-it* and filled the stage with the entire crew.
I believe I remember reading that the only reason Dave Musatine wasn’t there was because he was on tour at the time…

Defiance. Truly a Rock & Roll Distinction if there ever was one. Fill the freakin’ stage Pearl Jam…
