A 50th birthday bash for Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready took place at Seattle’s Neptune Theater Friday night. The event included a set by one of McCready’s favorite bands, Cheap Trick, with McCready also joining in with the band.  The highlight of the set however featured Pearl Jam vocalist Eddie Vedder for a take of “I Want You To Want Me”.

Also in attendance were Soundgarden’s Kim Thayil, and Mad Season, Screaming Trees, and Walking Papers drummer Barrett Martin.

In other Pearl Jam news, Vedder and McCready are set to join the rest of their band mates for a North American tour next month in celebration of the band’s 25th anniversary.
