Soundgarden’s three surviving members Kim Thayil, Ben Shepherd, and Matt Cameron were photographed together on May 22nd in Seattle. This is the first time they have been photographed together since Chris Cornell’s death on May 18, 2017.

Cameron and Thayil are playing together in MC50 soon, while Shepherd has not played live in the last year, and has rarely been photographed since 2017, though he was seen last year with Chris Cornell’s brother Peter.

See the beautiful photos below posted by Sara Bennet that will surely put smiles on the faces of Soundgarden fans who are still mourning the loss of Chris Cornell.

Sara wrote, “Images of Yesterday – I love my Soundgarden family so much. It was so extremely wonderful to get to see so many of them last night. We sorely missed those who could not join us. Bringing everyone together was a long time coming and just what we needed. Best family reunion ever.”

Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron has shared a new photo of himself rehearsing with Kim Thayil for MC50’s upcoming performances. He wrote on Instagram: “#MC50 ready for liftoff.”

Thayil and Cameron are rehearsing with Wayne Kramer and friends for the MC50 tour. Thayl will serve as a guitarist on the tour, while Cameron will be a special guest next month.

Cameron will perform at Northside Festival in Denmark on June 8th, 2018 as a special guest with MC5.

To celebrate the upcoming 50th anniversary of Kick Out the Jams, the legendary guitarist Wayne Kramer has gathered a new band around him, which he calls the MC50. The band will this summer go on the road with a setlist with all eight songs from the debut album plus favorites from MC5’s back catalog, and the band behind Kramer is pretty remarkable. It features guitarist Kim Thayil from Soundgarden, Don Was on bass and Marcus Durant from Zen Guerrilla on vocals.

Cameron and Thayil made their first public appearance together since Chris Cornell’s death last fall to support Vicky Cornell at a Human Rights Watch charity dinner as she accepted an award on behalf of her late husband.
