Watch STP, Velvet Revolver & Slipknot Members Perform Tribute To Scott Weiland

Covers supergroup Kings of Chaos performed in Las Vegas last night on the one year anniversary of legendary Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland’s death, and the band’s current lineup features two of his former bandmates: Stone Temple Pilots bassist Robert DeLeo and Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum. Sorum announced on Instagram that last night’s show would honor Weiland to mark the anniversary, “In Vegas thinking of Scott tonight on the anniversary of his passing, we’ll be performing STP and VR songs tonight along with SW bandmate Robert DeLeo of STP honoring Scott and his contribution to RNR #RIP.”

Former Stone Temple Pilots/current Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington and Slipknot/Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor sang Velvet Revolver and Stone Temple Pilots hits at the show, including “Slither,” “Vasoline,” “Sex Type Thing,” and “Interstate Love Song.” Watch videos below!

  • Considering how quick Corey Taylor was to attack Scott Weiland when he was alive, I always find it a bit disingenuous how he seems to always be around to pay tribute.

Sorum too. Seems like even after STP and VR splits Scott has been most amicable with Dave Kushner and Robert DeLeo.

The singers that came after the great 90’s band are total d’bags, they act like they are all that but they aren’t. Taylor isn’t the only one you can add Chester. None of these guys could hold Weiland’s jock strap. Weiland had more talent in his pinky finger than most of these singers combined.

Well said, I’ve been thinking the same thing. All the Grand Standing Taylor did calling Scott out as a Piece of Shit & such… Not sure why he is repeatedly paying homage now. It’s not like they were ever friends that I” aware of…so Taylor can’t play the “I was a concerned friend” card. I’d like to see someone ask him about it

He stinks, too! He totally butchered “Slither.” Didn’t even get the words right. Chester sang much better. He sang “Interstate Love Song” after Robert Deleo dedicated it to Scott. He went to stand by Robert for the “Breathing is the hardest thing to do” part, and together they sang the “Goodbye” part. Robert looked pretty choked up. It was touching. It made me remember the part in the video where Scott was sitting on Robert’s lap and gave him a little kiss. I guess Robert might have been remembering that, too. Sadness all around.
