Billie Joe Armstrong, the lead singer of Green Day, is facing criticism for holding up a Donald Trump mask during a concert in Washington DC, just weeks after an assassination attempt on the former president. Unsurprisingly, Green Day got voters for Kamala Harris recently as well.

At a performance at Nationals Park, Armstrong displayed a mask with the word “idiot” written across the forehead. Photos of the incident have been shared widely on social media. His actions were reminiscent of a controversial 2017 video by Kathy Griffin, where she held up a mock severed head of Trump.

On top of that, Armstrong changed the lyrics to Green Day’s song “American Idiot” to “I’m not a part of a MAGA agenda” during the concert, echoing a similar change he made during ABC’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.

Graham Allen criticized Green Day, calling them “complete and utter trash” and accusing them of having sold out years ago. He suggested that the band should be boycotted and investigated for incitement of violence against President Trump. Graham Allen is a member of the Republican Party and ran for a seat in the U.S. House representing South Carolina’s 7th Congressional District. However, he did not appear on the ballot for the Republican primary on June 14, 2022.

Jack Posobiec claims that Billie Joe Armstrong held up a Donald Trump mask at a Green Day concert in Washington, DC, just two weeks after Trump was shot in the head at a rally. Posobiec is known for supporting Donald Trump and sharing controversial conspiracy theories. Posobiec has used symbols and ideas associated with white supremacist and antisemitic beliefs.

Rogan O’Handley is a former Hollywood entertainment lawyer turned conservative commentator. He took to Twitter and called Green Day trash for what Armstrong did.
Nick Sortor claimed that Green Day had a concert in Washington, DC, where they held up a severed Trump head. He noted that this happened just two weeks after Donald Trump was shot in the head, calling the actions of the band “sick.” Sortor is a controversial journalist whose right-wing views have always made headlines for many reasons.

Brandon Tatum called it “pathetic” that Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day held up a Trump head and then threw it into the crowd at a concert in Washington, DC. He noted that this happened just 17 days after Donald Trump was shot, labeling the act as “pure evil.”

For those who don’t know, Brandon Orlando Tatum, known as The Officer Tatum, is an American conservative political commentator, author, radio personality, former police officer, and former college football player.
