Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder is rumored to be working on new music for Sean Penn’s movie ‘Flag Day.’ Vedder previously did the soundtrack for Penn’s 2007 film ‘Into the Wild,’ with hit songs like “Hard Sun” and “Rise” launching Vedder’s solo career, which later led to the release of 2011’s Ukulele Songs. Vedder is working with Glen Hansard on this solo material, with one of their new songs “I’ll Be Waiting” being debuted just a few weeks ago live.

Pearl Jam Online reported, “As reported by estupidafregona.net, Glen Hansard was interviewed by a Spanish radio and revealed that he has been working on new material with Eddie Vedder. The Irish singer-songwriter said that they have written a few songs in a cabana near the sea in California, where they have been staying for ten days in early October .

One of these songs may be I’ll Be Waiting, a new tune by Eddie and Glen that premiered at the Rock4EB benefit concert in Malibu on October 6.”

Howard Stern revealed an emotional Eddie Vedder secret yesterday. Pearl Jam Online continued, “Hansard also added that these songs could be included in the soundtrack to Sean Penn’s new movie (Flag Day, now in post-production), but nothing’s been confirmed yet.”

Pearl Jam confirmed in a new photo last week that they are in the studio making a new album, with an expected 2020 release and tour to follow. Pearl Jam haven’t released an album in 6 years, while Vedder’s last solo record was 8 years ago.
