Former Pearl Jam drummer Dave Abbruzzese mocked Caitlyn Jenner’s support of President Trump in a new Facebook post. He shared a tweet saying Trump ‘just ordered the government to call you Bruce.’

Caitlyn Jenner, the former Olympic gold medalist and reality television personality, has publicly expressed support for Donald Trump on multiple occasions, sparking debate and criticism. In 2023, Jenner praised Trump as the only presidential candidate capable of appealing to a broad spectrum of Americans, describing him as having built a coalition of support the GOP has not seen in decades.

This endorsement marked a notable reversal from her earlier position. In 2018, Jenner withdrew her support for Trump, citing his administration’s actions against the transgender community. At the time, she criticized the president for ignoring the humanity and dignity of transgender individuals.

Despite identifying as a transgender woman since 2015, Jenner has taken positions that align with conservative viewpoints. For instance, she supported restrictions on transgender athletes participating in female sports teams in certain contexts, stating that her focus was on protecting women.

Jenner’s renewed support for Trump has reignited discussions about her political alignment and advocacy within the LGBTQ+ community. Critics have pointed out the apparent contradiction between her identity and her backing of policies and individuals perceived as detrimental to transgender rights. However, supporters argue her stance reflects a broader perspective on political and social issues beyond her gender identity.
