In a fiery exchange that underscores the deepening cultural and political divides in the United States, former President Donald Trump lashed out at rock legend Bruce Springsteen on Friday, following the musician’s scathing critique of Trump’s administration during the opening night of his European tour in Manchester, England.

During the concert, Springsteen denounced the Trump administration as “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous,” accusing it of undermining civil rights, abandoning allies, and siding with dictators. He urged the audience to “raise your voices against authoritarianism and let freedom ring,” emphasizing the role of art and music in challenging political and social injustices .

Trump responded on his social media platform, Truth Social, with a barrage of personal insults, calling Springsteen “highly overrated,” “dumb as a rock,” and a “pushy, obnoxious JERK.” He mocked the musician’s appearance, referring to him as a “dried out ‘prune’ of a rocker,” and criticized him for speaking negatively about an American president while abroad .

This clash is the latest in a long-standing feud between the two, with Springsteen being a vocal critic of Trump throughout his political career. The exchange has reignited debates about the intersection of politics and celebrity culture, highlighting the polarized state of American society.

Springsteen’s tour, titled “Land of Hope and Dreams,” continues across Europe, with performances scheduled in several major cities. The tour has been met with critical acclaim, with reviewers praising Springsteen’s passionate performances and poignant messages .

As of now, Springsteen has not publicly responded to Trump’s latest remarks.
