This past April, Jillian Shriner, wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, was arrested after sustaining a non-life-threatening gunshot wound from a police officer.

A statement from the Los Angeles Police Department said that the LAPD was in the midst of a hit-and-run car chase, when one of the suspects attempted to enter the Shriners’ property. It was at this point that Jillian allegedly fired at the suspect, and then pointed her gun at officers.

This led to an “officer-involved shooting,” with Jillian being shot in the shoulder by the police.

After being taken to the hospital, she was arrested and “booked for attempted murder,” according to the LAPD.

Jillian was released on $1 million bail, and was set to appear in court this past Wednesday (June 18th).

During her appearance, she pleaded not guilty to the charges. Her defense attorney also requested additional time to review video evidence before Jillian’s hearing.

The judge ultimately agreed and granted them the extra time, and a follow-up hearing has now been scheduled for July 22nd.

The same week as the incident, Weezer performed a surprise set at Coachella. While her husband Scott didn’t comment on the situation during the show, in the days before their set he simply said: “She’s alright, thank you for asking. See you at Coachella.”
