Christian rock band Newsboys shared during a concert in Scottsdale, Arizona that their record label has dropped them, according to Church Leaders. This news comes after serious accusations were made against their former singer, Michael Tait. He has been accused of grooming, drugging, and sexually assaulting young men.

Current singer Adam Agee spoke to the audience and explained what’s happened. He said that because of the things Tait did and admitted to, the band lost their record deal, radio stations stopped playing their music, and many venues and promoters canceled their shows. However, he thanked the crowd for still showing up that night.

The situation has caused big problems for the band. The Roys Report said their Canadian tour was canceled after a promoter claimed the band didn’t keep promises and wasn’t honest about why Tait left. The promoter said this broke their agreement.

Even with all the backlash, the Newsboys are still making music. In May 2025, they released a new version of their album called Worldwide Revival (Deluxe), which features new recordings with Adam Agee as the lead singer. This was their way of trying to move forward.

The scandal has led many in the Christian music world to distance themselves from the band. Radio stations, venues, and partners have all cut ties. The Newsboys, who have been a well-known Christian band for many years, now face an uncertain future. Whether they can rebuild their career will depend on how they handle the situation and if they can win back the trust of their fans and the industry.
