We reported Slash and Duff McKagan wishing their former Guns N’ Roses bandmate Izzy Stradlin a very happy birthday a few days ago, and Stradlin’s response. New birthday messages have surfaced from Steven Adler and Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen, featuring a photo of Nielsen and Stradlin!

Steven Adler was very open about his disappointing experience with Guns N’ Roses on their ‘Not In This Lifetime’ tour in some interviews in February with Mitch Lafon and Eddie Trunk, but he may have been muzzled last month.

When Adler got on the phone with Rolling Stone a few weeks ago, he was less willing to share anything about Guns N’ Roses. “I had the best experience last year playing with them last year,” he says. “I wish Izzy [Stradlin] was there, but it was so great since I finally got to have some closure. It was wonderful. I don’t have nothing else to say about it. I’m really sorry. That’s all I can tell you. There’s nothing to say. I literally, literally honest to god literally, I can’t even tell you why I can’t tell you any more. Literally, okay? I really can’t. I just can’t.”

Adler said in an interview that he had to sign a legal document to even meet with Slash and Duff McKagan last year to discuss potentially reuniting, though he makes no specific references in his Rolling Stone interview to a legal threat, but implies he can no longer discuss Guns N’ Roses’ reunion.
