U.S. Department of Justice has released millions of pages of investigative material tied to convicted s*x offender Jeffrey Epstein under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which lawmakers passed to force publication of undisclosed records.
AC/DC named in Epstein Files
Those documents include correspondence, photos, flight logs, emails, and submissions from the public — some verified, others unverified. AC/DC appears in the released Epstein files as well.
Another name that is included in the list is Jon Stewart. He has also addressed his name coming up in the Epstein files – in a pitch for a hypothetical Woody Allen standup special.
On “The Daily Show” Monday, February 2nd, the comedian covered the latest batch of Epstein files and the who’s who of names throughout the documents, from President Donald Trump and Bill Clinton to Prince Andrew and Elon Musk, before saying that he wants “to get ahead of the story” regarding his name being in the files.
He said he searched his name – like “we all” did, he joked – and found himself mentioned in a concept for a hypothetical Woody Allen project.
In a 2015 email to producer Barry Josephson, Epstein stated that he pitched the idea for a standup routine to Allen that would be exclusive to Apple TV or Amazon. The date is notably well after Allen’s exile from Hollywood.
“think we do it as an extraordinary event. prerecorded testimonials, set in new york …,” “Disenchanted” and “Kiss of the Spider Woman” producer Josephson responded.
“Make a true biographical experience with his stand up being the capper. somebody like Jon Stewart could host/narrate the biographical part, or Woody voice over.”
