AC/DC Australian tour rumours are heating up, with fans speculating a full-blown return – and possibly the final lap – on home soil. Fans are bracing for what could be the biggest homecoming in Australian rock history, as speculation builds around the announcement of a long-awaited Australian leg of the band’s Power Up world tour.

According to a source’s report to 3AW’s Rumour File, AC/DC could hit the Melbourne Cricket Ground for two massive nights in November – specifically the 12th and 16th. Meanwhile, Herald Sun has also reported that industry chatter points to AC/DC playing Australian shows in late November or early December, though nothing official has surfaced yet.

The band’s official website remains quiet, but the whispers are growing louder. AC/DC are currently storming through the European leg of their tour, with dates in Berlin, Warsaw, Madrid, Gothenburg and Paris, wrapping up in Edinburgh this August. The North American leg wrapped earlier this year, with sold-out shows and setlists stacked with classics like ‘Thunderstruck’, ‘TNT’, and ‘You Shook Me All Night Long’.

If the rumors are true, the upcoming tour would mark AC/DC’s first performances in Australia since their Rock or Bust tour in 2015. That tour featured Stevie Young on rhythm guitar, stepping in for the late Malcolm Young, and included Phil Rudd’s brief return on drums before legal issues necessitated another lineup change.

Currently, the live band consists of Brian Johnson on vocals, Angus Young in top form, Stevie Young on rhythm guitar, Chris Chaney on bass, and Matt Laug on drums. Phil Rudd remains a wildcard, with fans hoping he might return for a symbolic home leg, although it’s possible that Matt Laug will continue to occupy the drum seat.

Whether the tour will be a historic celebration or a full-circle farewell remains unclear. However, since AC/DC was formed in Sydney back in 1973, a return to Australia would carry significant meaning.
