AC/DC drummer Chris Slade revealed that he sadly had no money in his younger days in the rock business, in response to a photo being posted on Twitter.

Rockstars Cars posted, “Heres a pic of Tom Jones and his E-type, its probably been posted before. It’s not unusual…. 😀what a great pic though! Wonder how long Tom had the car and if the car still exists? pls RT #SplinedHub will love this!”

Slade shared the tweet and photo on Facebook, writing, “A pic from the past… Me with The Squires and Tom with his E Type.”

He later commented, “Actually this was a joke! It was in the very early days, before ‘It”s not unusual’ was recorded. None of us had any money, we saw this car in the street and just posed with it… Like you do!…… Slade.”

Chris Slade is currently playing AC/DC hits with The Chris Slade Timeline, but his current status in AC/DC is unknown after he rejoined the band to replace Phil Rudd on drums for the Rock or Bust tour due to Rudd’s legal issues.

Slade previously addressed rumors in an in-depth interview that Rudd, Brian Johnson, and Cliff Williams are back in the band for a new AC/DC album.

“If it works, good luck. It’s great. And why not? There’s all sorts of rumors; Axl [Rose]’s going to be doing a track, Brian’s going to be doing a track; there’s so many variables here. And I’ve learned with AC/DC also not to believe the rumors, because even fans fake things; things just get faked. But Angus is now over 60, I think, so he’s still got a few years to go, if you go by me and Brian. That’s all he does; he relaxes by painting, and he smokes [cigarettes], and that’s about it, so the rest of the time, he’s playing guitar.”
