As ticket prices continue to rise in the world of music, we get a flashback of the ticket gouging fiasco that Pearl Jam were supposed to see all the way through. In fact, we all felt that maybe, just maybe, Pearl Jam would be the reason for tickets going back down to $20 a pop. Sadly, that’s not the case.
Aerosmith are the current band under fire as they have their upcoming ‘Peace Out’ tour at the helms. The tour is said to be their final, and just as always, tickets are soaring.
Many fans have spoken out about the ticket prices. Fans have stated that they’d have to sell their “first born child” for the tickets.
One of the reasons for the rise in ticket prices is the increasing demand for popular events and products. Especially in this instance where Aerosmith claim that this is it for them.
Another reason for the rise in ticket prices is the limited supply of tickets that will be held for this tour. When you take into consideration VIP packages, well, you’re out of luck.
The consequences of the rise in ticket prices is loaded. People who cannot afford to pay high prices are being excluded from this tour which means that we now have a war between the rich and the poor, which, music should never get to that point. For many shows, the cheapest tickets close in on $300 for upper view seats.
The biggest issue here is that if this really isn’t Aerosmith’s last tour, then there certainly will be some kind of backlash against the band because of how jacked up ticket prices are about to be. We have seen this before with Motley Crue, Judas Priest, and countless other acts. Will Aerosmith just be another band using buzzwords to sell tickets or is this really it for them?
