The Aerosmith reunion was supposed to happen at the Grammys… but, well, let’s just say things didn’t exactly go as planned as seen in a video. This was hyped as a full-band reunion, but when the curtain lifted, we got something completely different.
The Grammys are always known for big moments, shocking snubs, and legendary performances. And for fans of Aerosmith, this year was supposed to be one of those moments. The announcement? Steven Tyler was getting back on stage with his bandmates for a reunion performance. Naturally, fans were excited—especially with Aerosmith’s farewell tour postponed due to Tyler’s vocal cord injury. This was going to be the moment where we saw the band back together, even if just for one night.
But then… the performance happened. And instead of a full Aerosmith reunion, it turned into The Steven Tyler Show—with bassist Tom Hamilton as the only other Aerosmith member present.
Tyler took the stage at his Janie’s Fund annual fundraiser, an event he holds to support abused and neglected girls. It’s a noble cause, but it also meant this wasn’t the big rock reunion people were expecting.
Instead of the full Aerosmith lineup, we got a mix of guest musicians. Guitar virtuoso Nuno Bettencourt, country star Lainey Wilson, former Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum, and Chris Robinson from the Black Crowes all joined Tyler on stage.
