Jeff Scott Soto recently voiced his support for Van Halen receiving a farewell concert celebration similar to Black Sabbath’s final tour. He shared his thoughts on Instagram.

The vocalist responded to a Van Halen News Desk headline suggesting the band deserves a “Back to the Beginning” concert celebration. Soto expressed his agreement with the concept. He also acknowledged the practical challenges such an event would face. He wrote, “I found this too important not to share. I think They do…”

He continued by addressing the obstacles that would make such a celebration difficult to organize. He noted, “However… no Eddie. Alex is done playing. Not sure Wolf & Sammy would share a stage. But otherwise, let’s do it.”

The comment references the band’s current situation following Eddie Van Halen’s passing and Alex Van Halen’s retirement from performing.

Soto’s call for a Van Halen celebration comes at a time when the band’s legacy continues to evolve amid various developments within the rock community.

Alex Van Halen, who is currently recovering from a back injury that is keeping him from playing drums, said he attempted to arrange a Eddie Van Halen tribute tour with founding singer David Lee Roth, former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted and Joe Satriani in 2022, but that Roth torpedoed the notion of actually acknowledging Eddie at each show.

Earlier this year, former Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth returned to live music in 2025 after more than five years away from the stage. The legendary vocalist performed at the M3 Rock Festival and has a concert scheduled at The Mountain Winery in California in September. This signals his ongoing engagement with fans despite the band’s current challenges.

Soto’s comments come after the final Black Sabbath show, ‘Back To The Beginning.’ It featured some of the most famous stars from the music industry. The concert featured legendary bands, very popular modern musicians, and many people from the history of Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne.
