As Thanksgiving has passed, Christmas season is here, and that means it’s time for holiday music! Alternative Nation readers have become familiarized with Christmas music in the last decade since the release of late Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland’s Christmas record The Most Wonderful Time of the Year in 2011, and The Smashing Pumpkins now rumored to be working on a Christmas album. The Killers have also released several Christmas songs over the years. Arden Leigh from Arden in the Wolves’ new video of “Mary Did You Know” is another stellar addition to your 2010’s Christmas music playlist! Mary Did You Know, Mark Lowry/Buddy Greene, was performed by Arden & the Wolves, and produced at BoxEIGHT Studios by Jeremy Dawson with additional production by Stacy O’Dell.

A newly released music video for the song shows Arden looking beautiful surrounded by religious imagery. She sings about the miracles that Jesus performed, from the perspective of telling Mary what he has done and will do. There’s a stunning light and dark dynamic visually, with Arden in the dark surrounded by candles in some shots, while she is outside surrounded by blue skies in others. The wardrobe is stunning in the video as well, with different outfits in some shots, with the colors white and red prevalent, which fits the feeling of rebirth in the song.

Alternative Nation has reviewed Arden and the Wolves in the past, and we highly recommend this new video. Arden’s vocals are brilliant, and fans who love 90’s powerhouse voices like Dolores O’Riordan from The Cranberries and Shirley Manson from Garbage will love it.

The video was filmed on location at Sherwood Forest Faire, with Adam Lyons serving as executive producer and Oliver Shedd doing a great job as camera assistant. You can watch the video below, and feel free to send it to your family to get them in the holiday spirit!
