Astral Cloud Ashes recently released their new single “Moonphase Bloom.” The new song arrives a year after their debut album Too Close to the Noise Floor on July 11th, 2016. The track combines multiple subgenres of rock, with the guitar sound being very reminiscent of The Cure, but the vocals recalling 2000’s indie rock and emo like Death Cab For Cutie. There are beautiful harmonies during the verses, and the chorus sounds like a dream pop version of Blink-182 at times.

Antony Walker’s lyrics are a mix of nostalgia and trying to hold onto youth, asking if we can stay forever young.  It’s remarkable that Walker is a one man army on the track, handling the intricate instrumentals and harmonies, and bringing it all together for a KROQ ready hit.  James Elliott Field mixed the track and provided backing vocals, and it was mastered by Tim Turan. After their debut album and this new single, Astral Cloud Ashes seem poised to be at the forefront of a new post emo movement.
