Axl Rose shows support for Palestine
Axl Rose has been polarizing in the past as rock and roll’s ultimate bad boy, but more recently he’s been seen as a nice guy legend, showing up on time and putting on epic three hour performances. Rose showed he is still willing to be bold onstage a couple nights ago at a Guns N’ Roses show, showing he is absolutely a supporter of Palestine in their conflict with Israel.
Axl Rose backs Palestine with flag
At a recent Guns N’ Roses concert, Axl Rose made a massive statement. While standing beside guitarist Slash, he held up a Palestinian flag with the band’s logo and the words “I Don’t Need Your Civil War” written on it. He did not say a single world at all, and only draped the flag over himself and bowed to the crowd, who cheered loudly.
Fans were surprised and impressed, since Rose had never shared his thoughts on the Israel and Palestine conflict before onstage. Many praised him online as well. One fan on social media said they never expected Axl to support Palestine, while another said the song “Civil War”‘s message still feels as meaningful today as when it was written.
“Did NOT have ‘Axl is pro-Palestine’ on my bingo card for today,” stated one fan.
“I just listened to this song again last week cause it had earwormed its way in. I still stand by 90’s anarchy… we don’t need your civil war,” added another.
“It’s as relevant today as the day they wrote it,” added another.

Ceasefire reached after Axl Rose’s political statement
This moment came as Israel and Hamas agreed to the first part of a ceasefire and hostage release deal, giving people hope after two years of war. According to BBC, under the plan, Hamas will release 20 hostages, and Israel will free about 2,000 Palestinian prisoners while pulling back its troops from parts of Gaza.
World leaders and people from both sides have welcomed the news, calling it an important step toward peace. Many details still need to be worked out, like who will govern Gaza next, but the deal has brought cautious optimism around the world.
With that said, the deal made on Wednesday night is not a full peace agreement. There are still big issues to solve, like whether Hamas will give up its weapons and who will take charge of Gaza in the future.
Trump’s plan basically suggests creating a temporary government run by an international group, with Trump and former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair helping to oversee it. Hamas would not be part of this government. Instead, the Palestinian Authority, which currently runs the West Bank, might eventually take control of Gaza.
While Axl Rose’s message is obviously well-received, it’s not really known whether the ceasefire will even continue for a long time considering what happened the last time a ceasefire happened. So regardless, we’ll have to wait and see what happens in the end.
