Green Day recently performed at Super Bowl Music Fest in LA with Miley Cyrus. The festival took place at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, about 10 miles (16 kilometers) from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, where the LA Rams played the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. However, the attendance was quite low by the end as was noted by the fans, despite a packed house earlier.
Very low attendance for the last 5 songs of the set was noted, as the show was going well past 12:30 AM and the obscure songs played weren’t an expected part of the setlist. This led to casual fans leaving in droves.
The members of Green Day focused on their hits of the 1990s and early 2000s. They opened with a rousing rip through 2004’s “American Idiot.” “Los Angeles!” lead singer and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, who turns 50 on Thursday, shouted during the song. “Super Bowl!” he later yelled, in the only real mention the game got during the night.
