Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan was asked about James Iha reuniting with the band for two shows over the weekend in Los Angeles at a VIP Q&A in Salt Lake City on Monday, and Corgan was reluctant to tell the story behind the reunion because he feared the press possibly ‘trolling’ for a quote for a headline.

“I don’t want to talk about it, it’s self-evident. It’s the type of thing where every time I do anything now, I’m a politician.”

“But the story, if I say anything, then it’s online, and I don’t mean it’s online in a fan forum, I mean, people are trolling headlines. If I say it wrong, then they cut out what I said. I’m not touching that, I think it’s awesome though.”

James Iha reunited with The Smashing Pumpkins over the weekend for the first time in nearly 16 years. Iha reunited with bandmates Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin to perform several Siamese Dream classics on Saturday and Sunday at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles. Iha commented on his performances for the first time on Facebook last night:

“Hey all, thanks to all the well-wishers and support for this weekend’s The Smashing Pumpkins shows at the Ace Theatre. It was an incredible few nights that I was excited to be a part of!”

Check out some of the greatest bromance moments between BillCo and JIha (BillHa or iBill?) from the reunion below.
