Former Guns N’ Roses bassist Tommy Stinson has congratulated his ex-bandmate Axl Rose on reportedly joining AC/DC to perform with the band as a guest vocalist on select tour dates this year, “And the biggest balls in rock award goes to…..atta boy!!! go show the kids how it’s done!”

The latest rumors on MyGNR suggest that AC/DC plan on performing their rescheduled U.S. tour dates in October, with European dates still set to commence in May. It is unknown when Rose, if the rumors are true, would play with the band. AC/DC have been hinting at Axl Rose performing with the band according to a report on Here Today Gone To Hell, by liking photoshops of Axl Rose and Angus Young on Instagram.

New photos have been released by TMZ of Axl Rose leaving a rehearsal studio with AC/DC last Friday in Atlanta, confirming the story Alternative Nation broke last Monday that Axl Rose had met with the band to discuss being their new frontman to help complete their 2016 tour. TMZ is also reporting that AC/DC may open for Guns N’ Roses on their upcoming summer tour, but Guns N’ Roses’ camp is denying this. Check out the photos below!

Founding AC/DC guitarist Malcolm Young’s son, and Angus Young’s nephew, Ross Malcolm Young shared an article on Facebook last week about the rumors we reported via an Atlanta radio DJ that Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose will joining AC/DC to help complete the band’s tour, after visiting Atlanta over the weekend. When someone commented that Ross was ‘opening a can of worms’ by linking to the story, Ross responded, “It’s true.”

When a fan was was critical of the rumored choice of Angus to invite Axl into the band, saying it’d hurt the band’s legacy, Ross claimed the decision had already been made. Ross responded, “He can and he will.” Ross later deleted his post.

While Angus’ nephew claims Rose will perform with the band, bassist Cliff Williams’ daughter Erin Lucas wasn’t as eager to confirm the news. On Instagram a user was skeptical of Rose being the singer for the rest of the tour due to ’10 shows’ being the rumored number despite 22 tour dates being left (including European dates which Rose is not rumored to perform on) on AC/DC’s schedule, and held out hope for Brian Johnson’s return. Lucas responded, “Smart cookie.”

Guns N’ Roses insider MSL reported on GNRTruth over the weekend that Rose had visited Atlanta for ‘rehearsals.’ He also said, ‘Didn’t say GNR’ when asked what rehearsals Rose was visiting, without specifying. This led to speculation from fans that Axl would perform with AC/DC, who were forced to postpone their tour in Atlanta earlier this month due to singer Brian Johnson’s hearing problems. MSL made a follow up post yesterday, “Not denying it now. Nor am I confirming. I said what I said. I said what I could. What I said was true. I can’t stop people from speculating, but I can defend myself when somebody claims my accurate information was somehow inaccurate. One side may want something. The other side may be flattered. Doesn’t mean anything is going to happen.”

Atlanta Radio 100.5 DJ Jason Bailey reported last week on his show, as transcribed by Alternative Nation, that a ‘very very good source’ is telling him that Axl Rose will indeed be joining AC/DC to front the band for the remainder of their tour. Alternative Nation first reported rumors of Rose touring with AC/DC on Monday.

“This is what I’m being told, Axl was meeting with the AC/DC group, because it’s all but a done deal that Axl will front AC/DC for the 10 remaining shows. All 10, including Atlanta.”

“From what I was told, this was all kind of new inside information to me, Angus is a very black and white guy. He’s like, Brian, for health reasons, can’t continue fronting the band. He was supposed to retire after the last tour, so they wanted to continue going out on the road and continue making music, so if you can’t do it, we appreciate your services, but the show must go on. They’re in town, they were auditioning people for the job, and then they flew Axl in, again, this is from my source.”

Axl Rose was spotted in Atlanta over the weekend, and according to MSL from GNRTruth, he was there for rehearsals, but not for Guns N’ Roses. While MSL’s tease on GNRTruth doesn’t specify what exactly Rose is rehearsing for, it has led to rampant speculation that the legendary Guns N’ Roses frontman could be one of AC/DC’s guest singers for their upcoming concerts.

AC/DC released the following statement earlier this month: “AC/DC are postponing the remaining dates of their U.S. tour because of lead singer Brian Johnson’s possible hearing loss. The band says in a statement that doctors have advised the ‘Back in Black’ singer to stop touring immediately or risk total hearing loss. The group’s shows beginning Thursday in Atlanta through April 4 in New York are being rescheduled for later in the year — likely with a guest vocalist. The group’s lone stop in Florida would have been Friday at the BB&T Center in Fort Lauderdale. AC/DC opened the most recent U.S. leg of its ‘Rock or Bust’ tour Feb. 2 in Tacoma, Washington.”
