Colin Brittain recalls meeting Chester Bennington before joining Linkin Park
During his Instagram live from South Korea, he said that he was outside of his dressing room. Colin told him how much of an impact he had on his life, and Chester gave him a hug and told him how much he appreciated him. That was the only time they met. He revealed:
“He was so warm and sweet, I’ll always remember that.”
During the live, he said they will play Argentina, Mexico, and German festivals: “There are a couple songs that we are still working on that may or may not come out next year”
He added: “There are so many Linkin Park songs that we’ll probably rotate through a lot of them. You’ll probably hear more stuff from The Hunting Party but I’m not sure right now”
Linkin Park returned from hiatus after the tragic loss of their iconic frontman, Chester Bennington, in 2017. They recently unveiled a new single titled “The Emptiness Machine” from their upcoming album From Zero. This marks the band’s first release of new music in several years.
The band performed in a live stream event. However, fans quickly noticed the absence of two core members, guitarist Brad Delson and drummer Rob Bourdon during the performance. Former Dead Sara frontwoman Emily Armstrong was also introduced as the new vocalist replacing Chester Bennington. Guitarist Alex Feder stepped in to fill Brad Delson’s role on stage, while Colin Brittain replaced Rob Bourdon.
However, the addition of Emily Armstrong to the band garnered mixed reactions from the fans and Mike Shinoda has also addressed the same. Meanwhile, she has received support from Chester’s widow, Talinda Bennington. She seemingly approved of the band’s choice to replace Chester.
