Tobi Bennington, the sister of late Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington, has announced the death of their father, Lee Russell Bennington. In a statement shared on social media, she said she and her sisters only recently learned he had died, adding that ongoing family conflict has left them without key details about what happened.

Tobi said the family discovered “Pops passed away last week” and claimed that information has not been communicated to them because of unresolved tensions. She described the situation as “continuing conflict within our family” that has prevented the details from being shared so far.

In her message, Tobi asked for privacy while promising that more information would be provided in the coming days. She also requested thoughts and prayers for their father’s nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, underscoring the size of the family affected by the loss.

The Bennington family has remained in the public eye at times since Chester’s death in 2017, and attention on his legacy has continued through relatives’ occasional statements and disputes. In recent years, Chester’s children have also addressed aspects of his memory publicly, including a moment when his son declined to sing Linkin Park songs while discussing how personal the catalogue remains for the family.

For now, Tobi’s statement indicates the family is still working through internal divisions as they mourn Lee Russell Bennington, with further details expected if and when relatives are able to share them more widely.
