Donald Glover, better known by his stage name of Childish Gambino, injured his foot at a recent Dallas concert. He ended the show early, and subsequently postponed all of his ‘This Is America’ tour dates, and canceled his headlining performance at the Austin City Limits Festival. ACL have since announced Lil Wayne and Phoenix as replacements.

Fans on Twitter compared Gambino’s injury to when Dave Grohl broke his leg in 2015 onstage, and after a short break finished the show. Foo Fighters only postponed and canceled limited shows, and returned to the stage quickly with Dave Grohl on a rock and roll throne.

Axl Rose injured his foot in 2016 with Guns N’ Roses and finished the show, later borrowing Grohl’s throne for shows with GNR and AC/DC. Rose didn’t miss any shows due to his injury.

Donald Glover came to fame as a star of the NBC sitcom ‘Community’ in 2009, and he currently stars on ‘Atlanta’ on FX. He has also starred in multiple films including ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story.’
