Chris Cornell’s Twitter account has shared a never before seen photo of the late Soundgarden frontman in the studio with his daughter Toni shortly before his death. Toni recently released her “Nothing Compares 2 U” duet with her late father, which is said to have been recorded in the last few months of his life.

Toni Cornell wrote about the song, “Daddy, I love you and miss you so much. You were the best father anyone could ask for. Our relationship was so special, and you were always there for me. You gave me courage when I didn’t have any. You believed in me when I didn’t. I miss your love everyday. Recording this song with you was a special and amazing experience I wish I could repeat 100 times over and I know you would too. Happy Father’s Day daddy, nothing compares to you.”

Chris Cornell’s song “The Promise” was also recently played at the U.S. Navy Memorial during the Smithsonian Folklife Festival.

Vicky Cornell tweeted, “Honored that my husband’s @chriscornell ‘s Grammy-nominated human rights and anti-genocide anthem “The Promise” and @thepromisefilm played Friday at the #USNavy Memorial during the Smithsonian Folklife Festival #KeepThePromise @smithsonian.”
