As I Lay Dying has again lost some members as both the drummer and the guitarist have parted ways with the band recently.

“As of now, I am no longer playing drums for As I Lay Dying. This is far from being the ending I anticipated, and I feel I need to distance myself from the band in an effort to retain my personal health and integrity,” drummer Nick Pierce wrote in his statement.

“I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who followed and supported me throughout this journey. My goal has and always will be to create unforgettable memories with my friends and write music that will truly resonate with our fans. I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished on the road touring, as well as writing and recording drums for the new album,” he added.

Guitarist Ken Susi wrote in a separate statement: “My time playing with As I Lay Dying has come to an end today. I leave with so much gratitude for everyone who followed and supported me from my days in Unearth to this era of my career. I jumped into the AILD camp with full knowledge of the heightened dramatic history but had a drive to just play great music with great friends. Unfortunately, my personal morals have recently been tested to a breaking point, and it’s now the saddest ending to what could have been the greatest second chance for this band.”

Corey Taylor’s wife mocks

The news emerged after both the tour manager and Ryan Neff departed the band. Naturally, people started making fun of it, including Corey Taylor’s wife Alicia Taylor. “I too am quitting As I Lay Dying,” Corey Taylor’s wife joked on an X post.

In addition to Alicia, Attila frontman Chris Fronzak also joked about the matter. “Hi guys, I have also decided to leave As I Lay Dying, I do not wish to answer any questions, I’m just doing what’s best for me. Thank you,” he wrote.

Bassist Neff departed on October 19th and tour manager Alex Kendrick on October 23rd, and Susi on October 24th. Reports noted that the band’s European tour might also be called off and some venues have posted announcements about the cancellation.

“As I Lay Dying have made the difficult decision to cancel their entire European tour, which was to include a Warsaw concert on November 26 at the Progresja club. All tickets purchased for this concert can be returned directly to the points of purchase. We count on the artists’ quick return to Poland,” a venue wrote in a statement.

Only the band frontman Tim Lambesis and guitarist Phil Sgrosso remain in the lineup. As I Lay Dying’s new album, Through Storms Ahead, is set to release on November 15th.
