Despite achieving success earlier in their career, Creed has always been a bit of a divisive band. So when Stapp and co. announced their comeback last year, there was a bit of a question as to how much of a demand there would be for their tour. The massive success of Creed’s reunion, however, proved that the demand was much larger than even the band anticipated.
In a new interview on the Bobby Bones Show, Stapp admitted that both he and his Creed bandmates were blown away by the reunion tour’s success. The way fans turned out for them far surpassed their expectations, with Stapp saying that they had not planned for such a high demand.
Reflecting on the tour’s outcome, Stapp said: “I had no expectations of it ever coming back as big as it has. I mean, the last tour was sold out. We were doing 20-plus thousand a night. It was crazy. And I was grateful.”
“There were moments, man, where my eyes were just watering with gratitude… Just because I know what it’s like to have it, and I know what it’s like to not. And so there’s a much greater appreciation and respect for everything and everyone around me. It takes a village.”
