Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl’s ex-girlfriend, L7’s Jennifer Finch has said that she stands behind Grohl amid controversy.
Dave Grohl receives support from ex-girlfriend
TMZ has reported that Finch is staying firmly in Grohl’s corner after he announced on Tuesday that he fathered a daughter outside of his marriage. While fans around the world were shocked by the news, Finch has stepped up to defend him, calling him a top-tier dad and friend.
Finch went on to say that Grohl is, in the words of TMZ, “doing everything he can for his family, giving it his all in spite of the messy situation.”
Even though Finch is Grohl’s ex – with the two having dated in the ‘90s while Grohl was still with Nirvana, the pair have remained close friends. Just this year, Finch’s band L7 even toured with the Foo Fighters, giving Finch a first-hand look at Grohl’s family dynamic.
Grohl has opened up about his new fatherhood journey and he asked for his wife’s forgiveness. The 55-year-old seemed eager to maintain his reputation among his fanbase.
Grohl recently revealed his infidelity in an Instagram post. “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” the “Everlong” singer wrote.
“I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together,” his statement concluded.
Grohl’s eldest two daughters deactivated their Instagram accounts amid the drama, indicating some tension within the family.
He also reportedly hired a divorce attorney before making the shocking announcement. The former Nirvana drummer and his wife Jordyn Blum share three daughters: Violet Maye, 18, Harper Willow, 15, and Ophelia Saint, 10.
Dave Grohl has clarified that a woman’s viral Instagram post purportedly showing his love child is fake after admitting he fathered a baby outside of his marriage to Jordyn Blum.
A social media user with the handle @valeriegreyston shared a since-deleted photo Wednesday of a baby holding a mother’s hand with a lengthy caption claiming the that the baby belonged to the Foo Fighters frontman.
“My sweet Roxie Junie Grohl, being your mama has already been the most incredible experience of my life,” the post began. “Every day, I fall more in love with you and this new role.”
Grohl refuted the claims of the woman, who claimed Grohl was “by [her] side through the entire pregnancy,” saying she was “grateful for his love and support.”
