Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl told a fan at a Hammerstein Ballroom bar that he was going to ‘take a piss’ at a concert, according to yet another Good Guy Grohl story from famous Filipino fashion designer and musician Kate Torralba. Another nice Dave Grohl story recently surfaced about him paying a massive bill at a restaurant.
“KT meets #DaveGrohl at a @catpowerofficial show, Hammerstein Ballroom, Dec 2012. I usually watch gigs alone – spotted Dave & #TaylorHawkins at the sound booth. I knew at some point they’d run out of beer, so I figured they’d end up at the bar.
‘Hey guys, let’s just enjoy the show,’ politely declining fans requesting for photos as they headed to top up their booze. I manage to intercept Dave somehow, and in my feeble, star-struck demeanor, said hello to my childhood idol, mention I was from the Philippines, and that I knew he wasn’t into photo-taking that night, but OMG I would love to have a photo with him.
He looks at me, says, ‘Hold on, lemme take a piss!’ He comes back from the loo, we take this crap selfie with my phone, and this became one of the most epic #fangirl moments of my life.
