The Foo Fighters recently performed in Hershey on July 23, and frontman Dave Grohl inhaled his hair as the chorus went squeaky. He told the crowd what happened and laughed it off – but the wheezing sounds are certainly unique.

During the concert, Grohl also took the opportunity to remember a former bandmate. Just before going into the song “Aurora,” Grohl spoke to the audience.

“This was Taylor Hawkins’ favorite Foo Fighters song,” Grohl said. “Everybody make a big, sweet [expletive] noise for Taylor Hawkins, please. He’s always watching.”

It has been noted that Hawkins was a drummer and early member of the Foo Fighters, joining the group in 1997. He remained with the group until 2022, when he died suddenly while on tour with the band in Bogota, Colombia.

Grohl has shared a memory of Hawkins with the Hershey crowd, noting that one of the band’s previous concerts at the Hersheypark Stadium was opening for the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

“I remember that night,” Grohl said. “I think it was Taylor’s idea, we went to the Chili Pepper’s merch stand and bought all of their basketball clothes. We bought all of their basketball clothes and jumped on stage.”

In honor of his friend, Grohl said that “this one’s for T.”

“He was here then,” Grohl said. “I think he might be here right now.

Meanwhile, Grohl recently sold his longtime Sherman Oaks, CA, home for a pretty penny, considering his initial outlay more than 20 years ago.

He had bought the four-bedroom, three-bath property in 2001 for $569,000. The 2,774-square-foot property was sold for an impressive $1.6 million via SF Gate. It has come to light that while pictures of the dwelling aren’t available, the 1967 build sits on a quarter-acre on the north side of the city. The one-level dwelling features a living room with a fireplace, den, kitchen, and dining room. The flooring was made from hardwood and clay.

Foo Fighter’s United States tour started with shows at Citi Field in New York on July 17 and 18 and will culminate at T-Mobile Park in Seattle, Washington, on August 18.
