During Foo Fighters’ recent concert in Colorado, frontman Dave Grohl revealed he looks for signs of their late drummer Taylor Hawkins at every Foo Fighters show.

Dave Grohl talks about Taylor Hawkins

A recent video clip depicted Grohl speaking and getting emotional about Taylor Hawkins. He was on the verge of crying while recalling his late bandmate. Here is what he said:

“This is a song we like to play every night, because it was Taylor Hawkins’ favorite Foo Fighters song,” Grohl said, choked up and on the verge of tears as he introduced their song “Aurora”. “Every night, I kinda look up at the sky, to see if I see anything flying by. Tonight, I saw something flying by. And whenever I see something flying by, I think ‘oh sh*t’. I feel like he’s here. Everybody make a big noise for f*cking Taylor Hawkins.”

Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins passed away a couple of years back at 50 years old. Dave and his bandmates then made an emotional return to Los Angeles. The band was due to play on the same day of his death at the Festival Estereo Picnic in Bogota, Colombia. This led to the band canceling the rest of their South American tour. Hawkins was found dead in a hotel room at the Four Seasons Casa Medina in Bogota.

Foo Fighters vowed to continue as a band with Josh Freese as their drummer nine months after Hawkins passing, in a live stream event dubbed Foo Fighters: Preparing Music For Concerts, which featured cameos from Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith, Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee and Tool’s Danny Carey. After making his gig debut at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion on May 24 last year, Freese has played more than 50 shows with Foo Fighters.
