Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl revealed to the Kennedy Center recently that he feared he could never be a musician because he could not play guitar like The Rolling Stones icon Keith Richards. Alternative Nation transcribed his remarks. Taylor Hawkins revealed how a Dave Grohl and Kurt Cobain powerful collaboration happened by accident.

“When I was young and I listened to Beatles records or Led Zeppelin records or Rolling Stones records, those musicians were just so technically proficient that I thought there was no way I could ever be in a band because I can’t play guitar like Jimmy Page, I can’t play guitar like Keith Richards. Then I discovered this punk rock music, and I realized you just need three chords and a big heart. You just need to express yourself in the most simple form. It just opened up my whole world.”

Dave Grohl was recently filmed dancing with an A-list female star. Grohl started out in the Washington DC punk scene, first gaining notice with Scream. After Scream split, he joined Nirvana from 1990 to 1994. After Kurt Cobain’s death, he formed Foo Fighters, and he has used ‘three chords and a big heart’ to fill stadiums around the world to this day. Foo Fighters are set to tour Europe next month following a series of successful North American festival dates a couple of months ago. Keith Richards is on tour with The Rolling Stones in North America, and his daughter recently made a bold Ronnie Wood claim.
