Foo Fighters headlined the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury last weekend, two years after they were originally forced to cancel after Dave Grohl broke his leg after a bad fall of stage. Grohl vowed to return to Glastonbury, and he kept his promise two years later.

Admitting that he didn’t “realise the immensity of headlining this festival” two years ago, Grohl has now told NME that he finally ‘gets’ Glastonbury and that it felt “like I’m at my mother’s Christmas party back in Virginia.” Grohl had an interesting moment backstage with former Oasis singer Liam Gallagher.

“You know my favourite moment of the whole night?” Grohl continued, adding: “Five minutes before we go onstage, Liam fuckin’ Gallagher wanders in. He goes straight over to Taylor and says, ‘That fuckin’ song – ‘Range Rover Bitch’!’

Then he starts singing a song from Taylor’s solo record. Then he turns round to me and goes, ‘And your shit’s alright, too!’ Taylor had nerves about tonight because everyone made such a big deal about this show, but he walked onstage with the biggest fucking smile…”

Foo Fighters recently announced their own music festival in San Bernardino, CA on October 7th. Dubbed “Cal Fest 17″ in tribute to the 1974 California Jam festival, the lineup will feature Foo Fighters, Liam Gallagher, Queens of the Stone Age, Cage the Elephant,The Kills, Royal Blood, Japandroids, Wolf Alice, Bob Mould, and many more.

The press release also boasts that there will be “camping, carnival rides, a water park, attractions, [and] a mobile recording studio” available to ticket holders, in addition to outdoor movie screenings and go-go band Big Tony & Trouble Funk to entertain those camping out for the festival.
