Frances Bean Cobain’s godfather, R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe recently reacted to Cobain, welcoming her first baby with husband Riley Hawk, who is the son of skateboarder Tony Hawk. Dave Grohl’s daughter Harper commented with heart and teary-eyed emojis.
In a surprise announcement on social media, she informed his fans that Ronin Walker Cobain Hawk was born last week on September 17th. Frances wrote the following on Instagram, “Welcome to the world most beautiful son. We love you more than anything.”
Frances shared black-and-white photos of the newborn snuggled up in a blanket and of her holding his little fingers. The visual artist also shared a snap of Riley, lovingly gazing at the baby as he held him in his arms.

Stipe wrote after the news broke: “With all the love and energy in the whole world 💛💛💛.”
Meanwhile, Tony Hawk was delighted over the new addition to his family in the comments section of the post, writing that Ronin was his “favorite grandson.”
“Ahhhh! Congrats!!!!” wrote Zelda Williams, daughter of the late actor Robin Williams.
Harper Grohl, daughter of Kurt’s former Nirvana bandmate Dave Grohl, simply commented with heart and teary-eyed emojis to congratulate the pair, while comedian Kate Micucci wrote: “Welcome sweet Ronin! We love you! ❤️💫.”
The baby was born less than a year after Frances and the professional skateboarder tied the knot on October 7th last year, a month after obtaining a marriage license in San Diego. It was Michael Stipe, who reportedly officiated the ceremony. The model and Riley are believed to have begun dating in early 2021. However, the couple did not go public with their romance until the following year.
