On Saturday (April 12th) during Green Day’s set at Coachella, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong changed one of the lyrics in their song “Jesus of Suburbia.” Instead of singing the original line, “Runnin’ away from pain when you’ve been victimized,” Armstrong sang: “Runnin’ away from pain like the kids from Palestine”.

Now, in reaction to the lyric change, Disturbed frontman David Draiman has taken to Twitter/X to publicly reach out to Armstrong in an attempt to have an open discussion with him about his opinion on the ongoing conflict.

“Open offer to Billy Joe Armstrong from Green Day. You know I respect you brother. I’d love to have the opportunity for you to hear the Israeli/Jewish side of this horrific war. I’m available to discuss whenever you are. No judgement, nothing preconceived. Let me know,” Draiman tweeted on Monday, April 14th.

Draiman has been a very outspoken supporter of Israel, saying in 2022 that he “doesn’t give a sh*t” if he loses fans over his pro-Israel stance.
